IWC Great Value Wine Award for Jaboulet Parallele 45 Rose
The 2008 Cotes du Rhone 'Parallele 45' Rose from Paul Jaboulet Aine has been named the Great Value Rose in the £5.00-10.00 category by the 2009 International Wine Challenge. Just thirteen Great Value Wine Awards were given out in total.
Seven Trophies for Liberty at IWC 2009
The International Wine Challenge has now announced its 2009 Trophy-winning wines, with seven Liberty wines enjoying success, as follows:

Le Clos Jordanne beats top Burgundy and California to ‘World’s Best Chardonnay’ title
A blind tasting billed as the ‘Judgement of Montreal’ has named Canadian winery Le Clos Jordanne’s Claystone Terrace Chardonnay 2005 as the ‘World’s Best Chardonnay’. Judged by a group of Quebec’s top wine writers and sommeliers, who tend to favour Old World styles, the tasting pitted top White Burgundy and California Chardonnay against each other, along with single examples from Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
And the Winner is…Terre Alte!
Livio Felluga’s iconic ‘Terre Alte’ 2006 has been named ‘Best White Wine of the Year’ by the 2009 ‘Oscars del Vino’, the prestigious wine awards held by the Italian Sommelier Association of Rome and Bibenda magazine. For the first time in 11 years of the awards, the finalists were selected by public vote.
Liberty Wines is 'Importer of the Year' at 2009 Drinks Business Awards
Liberty Wines has been awarded 'Importer of the Year' at this year's prestigious Drinks Business Awards. Judges awarded Liberty the top prize for continuing to demonstrate that it is "innovative, go-getting and proactive, commanding respect from the industry, having a fantastic understanding of the trade and implementing a great customer education programme."
Liberty scoops two Trophies and 9 Golds at 2009 Decanter World Wine Awards
Two Liberty wines have been awarded Trophies at this year’s Decanter World Wine Awards. The Shaw + Smith Adelaide Hills Shiraz 2007 received the Australian Red Rhone Varietal over £10 Trophy, while the Dobogo Tokaji Aszu 6 puttonyos 2004 picked up the Sweet Central & Eastern Europe over £10 Trophy.

Liberty Wines awarded 'New World Merchant of the Year' at SWA 2009
Liberty Wines has been awarded 'New World Merchant of the Year' by the Sommelier Wine Awards 2009, while seven of its wines were selected for the Gold List and a further 13 were Shortlisted. Special recognition was given to the Mount Horrocks Watervale Riesling 2008, which was one of only six wines to be named 'Critics' Choice', and the Tinpot Hut Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2008, one of 11 wines to receive a 'By The Glass' award.
