We have had feedback from some customers about their plans for managing deliveries during the Olympics. It is crucial that we have information back from all customers so that we can adequately plan your deliveries during this period.
Olympic Torch Relay in London
The Olympic Torch will be in London the week of 23rd July and will cause disruption in certain areas. Please check http://www.london2012.com/torch-relay/ to see if you will be affected.
While we will still attempt to make deliveries in affected areas on the Torch Relay days, we expect there to be disruption that will result in deliveries being delayed, and in some instances we may be unable to make deliveries. We would urge customers on affected days to plan in advance consider alternative delivery dates to avoid disruption.
Deliveries during the Olympics and Paralympics
As previously advised we will be delivering overnight during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, from 23rd July to 11th September.
We have been advised that the most severely affected areas will only be able to accept night time deliveries, and we will not be able to offer a daytime delivery to some customers.
Traffic delays will be London wide and all deliveries within London will be affected. Even if you are not directly on one of the ORN or PRN routes, deliveries will be delayed where our drivers are attempting to navigate road restrictions, or are affected by traffic.
While we will still offer a daytime delivery service during this period we expect that heavy traffic alongside road restrictions will cause delays. As a result we will not be able to guarantee our usual timed deliveries. We will of course make every effort to deliver your wines when and where you want them during the day.
Some customers have requested that we hold keys in order to make unattended deliveries. Given the nature and value of the wine we deliver, we have taken the decision not to drop deliveries without a signed delivery note.

Whilst we will make every effort to deliver your wines when and where you want them, we are unable guarantee daytime delivery windows during the Olympics and Paralympics due to restrictions put in place by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) and predicted traffic delays.
For larger or more complex orders (those over 15 cases) we would ask orders to be placed by 12pm the day before delivery where possible.
Placing Orders
When placing orders with Customer Services it is crucial that we are given your delivery requirements so that we can plan our deliveries. Please ensure that the following information is provided at the time of ordering, whether by email, phone or fax:
- Day or Night delivery required
- Required delivery day
- Required delivery time
- Contact details for delivery
- Any relevant delivery instructions (e.g. road or loading restrictions you are aware of)
Contacting Liberty Wines about deliveries
Our offices will be staffed from 10:30pm every night in case you need to contact us about your delivery or other issue. You will still be able to place answerphone orders during this time too.
The offices will be closed from 5:30pm until 10:30pm but you will be able to leave an answerphone message in case of any queries. If required we will call you back from 10:30pm.
Our primary goal during the Olympics is to ensure that we deliver your wines to you with minimal disruption and our planning team has been busy looking at all the options to serve our customers best.
