Wine Buyer

Liberty Wines, the International Wine Challenge’s Overall Merchant of the Year for 2018, is looking for a new wine buyer.

Managing a large part of our portfolio (France and Spain are the two most important areas within the remit), you will also play a key role in developing other specific areas of our award-winning range.

Working side by side with our top sales people and managing director, you would be responsible for sourcing and launching yet-to-be discovered wine producers, as well as managing some of our top, well-established estates.  You would be part of a tightly knit buying team of five and will need an understanding of the market, a capacity to help drive sales and the ability to liaise closely with our brand management and shipping teams, meaning you will be involved in every link of our purchasing and sales chain.

Liberty Wines is known in the industry for looking after our staff and our customers.  You would be encouraged to continue learning by working closely with our winemaking team as well as building your skills and experience by working in our fast-growing and ambitious company.   

Our current wine buyer, a Master of Wine, is moving to Hong Kong.

HR Co-ordinator

Are you a wine-loving HR professional who would like to be part of one of London’s fastest-growing, award-winning wine companies?

The International Wine Challenge’s Overall Merchant of the Year for 2018, Liberty Wines is looking for a new HR Co-ordinator to work within our small but highly professional HR team.  Based in south-west London, your role will cover all aspects of the HR function and will put you at the heart of our 150-strong team. 

Together with our HR Manager, you would be responsible for guiding all our staff in their HR journey through the company, from recruitment and induction to exit interviews and everything in between. You will have plenty of opportunity to widen and deepen your experience within the HR function, as well as continue with your studies and professional development.

Events Co-ordinator

Are you a highly organised multi-tasker who would love to be part of one of London’s fastest-growing, award-winning wine companies?

IWC’s Overall Merchant of the Year for 2018, Liberty Wines is looking for a new Events Co-ordinator to work within our small but dynamic events team.  You would be part of the team organising a wide range of events from large trade tastings with 750 wines through to small, intimate winemaker dinners for selected press. 

Together with our Events Manager, you would share responsibility for planning, delivery and management of all our trade events.  We hold seven highly-regarded portfolio tastings a year in London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Bristol and Dublin, interspersed with smaller, specialist tastings showing the best of our medal-winning from key regions of Italy, France and Australia.

Warehouse Supervisor (Early Morning Shift)

An opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse Supervisor to join our busy Warehouse & Distribution team. Reporting to our Route Planner, this role will have responsibility for the following:

People Management

-
Supervise the early morning picking operation including:

- Assisting with planning of staff rotas
- Ensure picking accuracy and efficiency
- Assisting with co-ordination of unloading and put away of daily replenishment stock
- Coordinating van loading

- Implement continuous improvement ideas with warehouse staff
- Assist in leading team meetings and briefings

Warehouse

-
Picking and preparation of orders for despatch
- Vehicle loading and unloading (hand ball and forklift)
- Liaison with Customer Services, and other internal departments, to ensure all queries/customer enquiries are resolved within service levels
- Ensuring service standards are maintained, work processes are followed, and are continually monitored to be improved
- Communicating issues for handover to the afternoon team

Health & Safety

Ensure the team works in accordance with Company Health and Safety policies and procedures

Skills & Experience:

-
Experience in supervising and motivating a team
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Pro-active, and able to manage and plan their own and others work
- Exceptional team work, and ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the company
- Articulated Fork Lift Licence desirable but not essential
- Computer literate

Hours:

- Monday to Friday 2.30am – 11.00am
- Possible variable shift pattern during the week with voluntary overtime during peak periods

Customer Services Assistant (Full time Evening Shift)

An opportunity has arisen for an Evening Customer Services Assistant to work in our vibrant Customer Services department. This role is the first point of contact for our wide range of customers and is responsible for delivering the great service that Liberty Wines takes pride in.

Many of our customers take advantage of our overnight ordering service for London and our Warehouse and Customer Services teams facilitate managing, processing, and despatching those orders. 

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for prioritising and processing emailed and answerphone orders throughout the evening. Working as part of a close-knit team, we need people who are willing to go the extra mile to ensure exemplary service to each and every customer.

Skills & Experience:

- Reliable, conscientious with the ability to take ownership of issues
- Self-motivated with a positive “can do” attitude to all tasks
- Able to work under pressure and prioritise tasks
- Team oriented and able to build good working relationships
- Good problem solving skills with the ability to work things out logically
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy along with good IT skills
- Great written and oral communication skills

Previous experience of an order processing or customer services role is essential.  Wine knowledge is not essential but a willingness to learn is.

Hours of work will be 3pm to 11.30pm on Sunday to Thursday.

Salary & Benefits:

Salary range is £19,000 - £20,000 with the following:

- Personal Bonus of up to 5% of basic salary based on performance against key objectives
