Five years certified Carbon Neutral
We strongly believe we have a duty to help curb the effects of climate change so following our move to our new warehouse and offices in Timbermill Way in 2013, we began to measure our carbon impact as a business. In 2014 we went further, becoming the first premium wine distributor to be certified Carbon Neutral and committing to an ongoing programme to reduce our carbon footprint.
We have worked hard to reduce the emissions caused by transporting wine from producers across the world to our customers – the biggest contributor to our footprint. We have done this through moving shipments from road to rail where possible – 75% of our wines from Italy now come by rail, reducing their emissions by 50% - through increased consolidation, which means higher container fill-rates, and through route-planning software which increases van fill-rates and delivery efficiency. We then offset the unavoidable emissions of transporting each bottle of wine from the winery cellar to your door.
In addition, we look to reduce the smaller contributors too - all our office waste is recycled, we’ve reduced our virgin paper consumption to almost zero, we use water saving technology, and we switched to a milk dispenser to eliminate over 1800 plastic bottles a year.

While the quality of our wines remains paramount, we have a responsibility to do what we can to minimise the impact our business has on the environment.”
