Prue Henschke awarded 'Outstanding Viticulturalist 2020' title

Congratulations to Prue Henschke, who has been awarded the 'Outstanding Viticulturalist' title at this year's prestigious delicious. Harvey Norman Produce Awards. Now in their 15th year, the Awards celebrate Australia's best ingredients "grown, caught, sourced or produced with dedication, passion, knowledge and regard for the environment."

Judge Mike Bennie says: "Prue Henschke is one of Australia’s most innovative and leading viticulturists. She is at the forefront of regenerative, sustainable and biodynamic farming in Australia. Her work has not only elevated the quality of wine for the Henschke brand, she is also an open resource and inspiring mentor for a new generation of viticulture and farming students."

Henschke have also won top accolades at the 2020 Royal Adelaide Wine Show. Their 'Julius' Eden Valley Riesling 2017 (current vintage 2019) scooped the Governor's Trophy for 'Best South Australian White Wine in Show', as well as the 'Best Riesling in Show' Trophy.

The Governor's Trophies were introduced to the competition in 2019 to "recognise
the excellence of South Australia’s wine makers and the importance of the South Australian wine industry to the history and economy of the State. The winning wines will be served at Government House to international, interstate and local
visitors in the following 12 months."

The Morris of Rutherglen Old Premium Rare Liqueur Muscat NV received the trophy for 'Best Apera, Topaque, Muscat or Sweet White in Show' and the Gold medal-winning Willunga 100 'The Hundred Blewitt Springs' McLaren Vale Grenache 2018 (available from late December 2020) was the Runner-up for Best Grenache in Show with the joint top score of 96 points - the highest-scoring Grenache from the 2018 vintage.
