Ca' Morlin

Veneto, veneto Italy

Finding a Prosecco producer with a Liberty Wines profile – control of grapes, a quality ethos, one of the best producers in the zone and a wine that offers value for money – had proven almost impossible. We eventually concluded that the best solution was to make our own: a Prosecco that is clean, fresh, approachable and, above all, affordable.

We’ve been making these wines together with Conegliano-born Andrea Morlin since 1994. Matt Thomson works with Andrea and a grower friend in a modern, compact winery tucked into the hills of this beautiful region.

With full control of the grapes, from tending to the vines through to picking at optimal ripeness, we can avoid the risk of any errors that could require adjustments during vinification. The Frizzante has lovely definition and aromatic lift. The Spumante comes from the Asolo DOCG sub-region, where vineyards lie on steep slopes and are all managed by hand. The cooler climate of this area gives a surprisingly persistent and nicely defined Prosecco. Prosecco Rosé is a new addition to the Prosecco DOC category. A blend of Glera and Pinot Nero, the wine is vintage specific and undergoes longer lees contact.
