Pavillon de Léoville Poyferré

Bordeaux, bordeaux France

The second wine of Château Léoville Poyferré, Pavillon, is sourced from the estate’s younger vines with an average age of 15 to 20 years. The wine benefits from the same scrupulous attention in the vineyard and the cellar, the sole difference is the maturation. Pavillon is aged in two-year-old French oak barrels to highlight the bright fruit character, meaning it is more accessible in its youth.

A blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc, the harmony of ripe tannins and plush, rich fruit captures the essence of the 2015 vintage. The 2016 vintage has a more brooding character with a core of concentrated blackberry fruit and a lifted finish.
