Navarra, navarra Spain

`Rós’ is a winemaking collaboration between two great friends: Irish Master of Wine Lynne Coyle and Spanish Winemaker Alicia Eyaralar in Navarra. Lynne and Alicia decided to make their first wine together in the 2018 vintage, selecting a two-hectare vineyard of native, old-vine Garnacha atop chalk and clay soils, tended by hand. The sustainably farmed site is in Navarra’s Yerri Valley, near Pamplona. The hot and dry continental climate is tempered by cooling winds from the Pyrenees and the Atlantic Ocean, resulting in grapes with intense, concentrated flavours balanced by a refreshing acidity.

‘Rós’, which is Gaelic for ‘rose’, was fermented with indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks. The three-hour skin maceration, or traditional ‘sangrado’ method, results in a bright and pretty pink rosado wine. The wine displays an aromatic and fruity aroma evoking summer berries, sweet pea and floral inflections.
