Success at the 2023 International Wine Challenge awards

Liberty Wines are proud to have been awarded Agent of the Year, Trade Educator of the Year and Italian Specialist of the Year at the 2023 International Wine Challenge awards.

2023 marks the 3rd consecutive year we have been named Agent of the Year, the 7th consecutive year we have been named Trade Educator of the Year, and the 10th consecutive year we have been named Italian Specialist Merchant of the Year.

The judges highlighted that 2023 “was another strong year from Liberty, with investment in people, systems and sustainable practices”. They also recognised our long-standing customer relationships, investment in education and reputation as a great company to work for. We will strive to surpass these standards in the year to come.

The ceremony also recognised the excellence of our producers. Émilien Boutillat, chef de cave of Rare Champagne, won IWC Sparkling Winemaker of the Year, and the Rare Champagne Millésime 2008 was awarded IWC Champion Sparkling Wine 2023. Morris Wines of Rutherglen received the IWC 2023 Award For Consistency Over 5 Years, in addition to the IWC Australian Fortified Trophy 2023. In total, six of the wines in our portfolio won IWC trophies.

Liberty Wines would not have received these awards without the outstanding producers we represent, the hard work of our team and the ongoing support of our customers. Our thanks go to everyone who contributed to this success.

More information about the awards can be found on the IWC website.
